Gas spring for semi-trailer sliding roof, with 950 N of force. Extended length of about 205 mm and stroke of 58 mm, rod of Ø10 mm and tube of Ø22 mm, with angle ball joints M8 at both ends. It is a replacement part, and not a universal gas spring: the dimensions and end fittings are those of the original application.

FIT WITH THE ROD DOWNWARDS — stated expressly on the manufacturer's drawing («must be mounted with piston rod down») and repeated by the manufacturer, which adds a minimum tilt of 15°. That is what keeps the seal lubricated; fitted the other way up it loses force and fails early.
